Jan trained at the Dartington School of Arts back at the tail end of the swinging 60's.

After a brief stint as head of department in secondary education in London, she settled down in rural Wiltshire to bring up her family.

​

Despite the distraction of work, children, and animals, she never stopped drawing, sketching, and painting.

 

In the 1990s, she started offering her animal portrait service, initially in the local area, but gradually growing to encompass locations as far afield as x and y.

 

Whilst specialising in horses and dogs, Jan has also offers portraits of other animals from cats and rabbits, to ferrets and pigs
